Through the wonders of advanced gemology (it’s a thing, trust me), you can now remove those invaluable gems that you’ve already embedded into your equipment.<br />

<li>For a fee of rubies, you can now take a gem out of a piece of equipment</li>
<li>This will not destroy the gem, but will place it into your inventory</li>
<li>This allows for more flexibility in your itemization choices, and means higher level gems won’t go to waste</li>

Adventuring in the world of Empire has its perks, but for those of you that have already been through the process, or are newly recruited to the game and want to join your alliance mates as soon as possible, we have a solution.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>The Willow of Experience  is a new premium building, only available for construction in the main castle of the Great Empire</li>
<li>Once built, the building will grant you a bonus on ALL experience gains</li>
<li>It has multiple levels, granting a higher percentage bonus at higher levels</li>
<li>Once built, the building is indestructible (can’t be damaged in attacks, or demolished)</li>
<li>There will be a public order value attached to the building</li>
</ul>

<li>Players now have to be active in alliance events in order to receive the rewards</li>
<li>When you receive a decoration in the daily login bonus, you will now be able to choose where it goes</li>
<li>The limit of days in the daily login bonus has been set to 7. You will still receive the  best rewards continuously as the days go on, but only 7 days will be displayed.</li>

Update: Berimond invades the Great Empire!

<img alt="" src="http://i.imgur.com/igAJxiF.png" />Fighting tooth and claw, the Battle for Berimond has always been a bloody affair. Leopold III and Grimbert are forever reluctant to call a permanent end to their war, standing by their views that they are the rightful heir to the Berimond throne.<br />
<br />
The Emperor called for a grand ball to take place, within our Great Empire. Upon encountering each other, Grimbert and Leopold refused to let their tensions go for the evening, and now the fight for Berimond is right outside our doors! They’ve set up their camps, and the emperor needs you to send them back where they came from! Perhaps you could even earn one of the  king’s favor in the meantime….<br />

The Berimond Invasion<br />
Lion and Bear camps have been constructed all across the Great Empire as Leopold III and Grimbert continue to squabble. The Emperor would surely shine his favour upon those that help to drive them back, so arm yourselves and help send their conflict back to Berimond!<br />
<ul>
<li>There will be both an alliance and single player section of the event, running at the same time.</li>
</ul>
Single Player<br />
<ul>
<li>Lion and Bear camps will spawn across the Great Empire</li>
<li>In the single player event, attacking a specific faction’s camp will earn you reputation with the opposing faction</li>
<li>Adversely, you will lose reputation with the attacked faction</li>
<li>You will also gain gallantry points, not glory, from attacking the camps</li>
<li>As you earn reputation points, you’ll also earn rewards</li>
<li>You can earn rewards for both factions, but in order to reach the ‘Top X’ positions, you’ll have to earn a lot of reputation for one faction</li>
</ul>
Alliance<br />
<ul>
<li>The alliance version will focus instead on earning gallantry for the alliance, granting rewards when a certain amount of gallantry is earned</li>
<li>There will also be ‘Top X’ positions for this part of the event, based on the overall gallantry earned.</li>
</ul>
<div>
The actual Berimond kingdom event will <b>still be running</b>, so don't worry, this doesn't take its place.</div>

Other Changes<br />
<ul>
<li>Samurai and nomad camps will drop less coins when attacked</li>
<li>New tools that can be constructed for wood (nomads) or stone (samurai) allow you to loot more coins</li>
<li>Players level 70 and above will now be able to loot Iron from these camps</li>
<li>Berimond gallantry will now decrease on a daily basis, after earning 5000 points</li>
<li>Battle reports have received a neat little makeover, stating how grand the victory or defeat was</li>

We’re excited to unveil our first biggest new feature of 2016 for Goodgame Empire, the Build Items.<br />
<br />
The Architect has been working day and night, slaving away over zany blueprints, trying to make his mark on the kingdom forever. One day it all just clicked. Huzzah! He’s done it! The invention that will make everyone remember the Architect for generations to come, items that can enhance the power of a building and even entirely change its appearance.<br />
<br />
What are Build Items?<br />
<br />
These Build Items are powerful new ways to improve your already existing buildings. Just pop them in and hey presto! Your building will be stronger, faster, or just plain prettier than before.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Once you reach Level 45, you’ll be granted access to a new building (through a quest),the Construction yard</li>
<li>In order to unlock the slots for a location, a Construction yard must be built there (in the Castle, Capital, Metropolis, or Outpost)</li>
<li>This building cannot be built in the Storm Islands, Blade Coast, Underworld, Thorn King, or Berimondevents</li>
<li>The Construction yard will eventually have 3 levels that unlock additional slots. To start with, only one level will be available, granting access to the Primary and Appearance slots</li>
<li>In the future, you’ll be able to craft your own build items, but for now, they’ll be available through contests, prime days, and the Armorer</li>
</ul>

Slots and Build Item Types<br />

<li>Upon building the Construction yard, you’ll gain access to the Primary and Appearance slots</li>
<li>The Primary slot will be used for Build Items that are bound to a specific building type and usually affect the main stats of the building (for example: production values)</li>
<li>The Appearance slot will be for items that completely alter the appearance of a specific building and provide a minor statistical boost</li>
<li>Bonuses attached to appearance items will always be the same, ensuring that you don’t have to lose out on a specific aesthetic for the sake of stats</li>
</ul>

<li>Build Items will be available in various rarities, just like regular equipment/gems. The rarer it is, the more valuable the bonus will be.</li>
<li>As with gems, Build Items will have levels.</li>
<li>There will be a separate inventory, purely for Build Items</li>
<li>You can replace a build item in a slot with another in a couple of different ways:</li>
<ul>
<li>Replacing the item with another will work instantly, but the original item will be lost</li>
<li>Removing the old item will place it back into your inventory for a small coin fee</li>
</ul>
<li>If a location containing a Construction yard is captured or abandoned, the Build Items will automatically be removed and returned to the <i>original </i>owner’s inventory</li>
<li>To begin with, there will be items available for the Bakery, Barracks, Keep, Hospital and Drill Ground</li>
</ul>

<li>Here, players can trade their Samurai Tokens for tools, troops, equipment and decorations.</li>

Although the carolers are out in force, and the baubles and lights are starting to fill the citizens homes, we all know that war never stops, so read on, brave lords and ladies, we’re warring in a winter wonderland!<br />

<b>Winter Point Event</b></h4>

<li>Brawl with the Foreign Invaders and Nomads for a chance to win awesome winter-themed prizes!</li>
<li>As with the Halloween Nail-Biter event, you’ll gain points towards the contest for participating in various events that pop up over the holiday period</li>
<li>There will be a variety of themed rewards, including brand new tools, troops, heroes and equipment</li>
<li>Players level 10<i> </i>and onward can also earn an exclusive Winter decoration, never before seen in Empire! Fight to the top to earn it!</li>
<li>The event will last a month, and you’ll earn unique Equipment simply by taking part through activity awards!</li>
<li>The map will also get a festive makeover, snow is fallin’!</li>

<b>Fast Travel Feathers</b></h4>
<ul>
<li>This update will introduce a new method of horse travel, the Fast Travel Feather</li>
<li>Fast Travel Feathers are consumables that can be used whenever a travel movement is initiated</li>
<li>You’ll have the choice to use a Fast Travel Feather as a 4th Horse option, giving a travel speed equivalent to the speed of the most expensive Ruby horses</li>
<li>They can also be used similarly in the Storm Islands, interchanging Horses for Ships</li>
<li>Fast Travel Feathers can be earned through events or purchased in Prime Days</li>
</ul>

<b>Glory Memorial</b></h4>
<ul>
<li>A new premium building will be available; the Glory Memorial</li>
<li>This building will provide a permanent bonus to Glory gains through combat, in the kingdom it is constructed</li>
<li>The Glory Memorial will also provide Public Order</li>
<li>It can be built once per kingdom, providing a bonus for combat in the entire kingdom</li>
<li>This building has multiple levels, up to a maximum of 100.</li>
